Update: Birbiglia heads to Florida, CA, and AZ

Tough news. As you may have heard, NBC has moved my late night show back to 5:30 AM. Also, it won’t feature me, but Ron Popeil selling rotisserie ovens. The only way you’ll know it’s my show is that Ron will be rotisserie-ing travel pillow-shaped pizzas.
Also of note:
- I’m coming to a bunch of places that I never go to. South Beach, Florida, (near Miami) Tempe, AZ (near Phoenix?) and Brea, CA (near LA-ish?).
- This American Life’s “Somewhere Out There” episode re-broadcasts this weekend, featuring my story entitled: “My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend.” Check your local NPR affiliate or wait ’til Monday for the podcast.
- I joined the texting-money bandwagon by texting HAITI to 90999, which donates $10 to Red Cross relief efforts….So that was good for my self-esteem. And then, in addition to that, I came up with this idea that if you pick up one of these new Birbig Sigg bottles (They’re very nice. I own 40), I’ll donate $10 for every one sold to Red Cross relief efforts. (There are 100 left!)
Thanks for all your support in 2009. I’m excited about the new year, though people might not be able to tell from my facial expressions. I’m writing a book. Writing a movie. So much stuff. More information coming soon. Stay tuned!

I just discovered you on the internets today. The way you said, “Oh, no!” during the sleepwalking story cracked me up. It’s even more amazing that it is a true story.
Most comedians make me sad, but you didn’t.

I have gone to school with no shirt on, pulled the chair out from under a man with prosthetic legs, and told the speaker of the house that I think there should be a “fuck no” option on the ballet. I appreciate your standup for these reasons. Oh and b/c its fucking hilarious. You can say “fucking” on here, right?

I’m so glad they moved your show back to 5:30AM. I know you aren’t pleased with the decision, but those spinning pizzas are what get my day rolling. Watching it before I went to bed at 1:00AM just got me too riled up to sleep.
The fans are always right; we don’t really care about your comfort, as long as you make us laugh.

to respond to cindy, i am doing pretty much doing an all new show in tempe from sleepwalk with me. i’m doing probably 40 minutes of completely new material. and there might be a a story or two from sleepwalk, or two drink mike, or my secret public journal live- but most of the show is new.
as for san jose, some things outside my control came up, so we had to move those shows to may. sorry about that. i promise i will come.
